Every little step helps

Here’s an interesting fact: Did you know that all our gardens, courtyards and balconies combined make up a space that’s larger than the Lake District? Isn’t that brilliant! So collectively, imagine what we could achieve if we all did a little bit to support nature on our own little patch? You might be thinking “But what can I do to help?” It’s actually really easy to make a difference – whether you live in the countryside or in a city.

There are some simple things we can all do to help nature thrive, so check out our top tips with our friend Katie Rushworth above.

How to help your patch burst with nature with Katie Rushworth

We’ve teamed up with Katie Rushworth to bring you some easy hints and tips to encourage more nature onto your patch– and the brilliant thing, is you don’t need a big garden to help nature. You can support biodiversity by helping birds and insects even from your patio or balcony.

Katie is a massive advocate for nature and has been a gardener for twelve years. For ten of those, she has worked alongside her good friends Alan Titchmarsh, Frances Tophill and David Domoney on ITV’s Love Your Garden.

Did you know the oats in our cereals come from farms that are bursting with nature?

Through The Jordans Farm Partnership our oat farmers work with a dedicated wildlife advisor from their local wildlife trust to make sure that at least 10% of their land is managed for the unique mix of wildlife on their farm (the average is currently at 17%, whoop!).
