Tasty bites that the kids can make too!
These delectable breakfast bites combine Jordans Country Crisp Chunky Nut and our Chunky Traditional Porridge to make the best breakfast bite you've ever had.... rather like a flapjack crispy cluster....did we just re-invent the wheel?
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 225g (8oz) Jordans Country Crisp Chunky Nut
- 100g (4oz) Jordans Chunky Traditional Porridge
- 100g (4oz) Butter
- 100g (4oz) Light Muscovado Sugar
- 50g (2oz) Dried Apple, chopped
- 50g (2oz) Read-to-eat dried Apricots, chopped
- 50g (2oz) Sultanas or Raisins
- 1 Large Egg Beaten
1 Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan oven 160°C, Gas Mark 4. Put 15 paper bun cases into bun tins
2 Melt the butter in a large saucepan over a low heat, taking care that it doesn’t get too hot. Stir in the sugar
3 Remove from the heat and stir in the apple, apricots and sultanas/raisins, Jordans Chunky Traditional Porridge oats and Jordans Country Crisp with Chunky Nuts. Add the beaten egg and stir well. Spoon into the bun cases
4 Bake for 10-12 minutes, until set and light golden brown. Leave to cool in the tin.... if you can!
If you have any left (unlikely) store in an airtight tin and polish them off within 1 week
You could also make them fruitier by using 150g (6oz) of dried fruit salad instead of the apple, apricot etc... just make sure to chop the fruit into small pieces.
